30 Dec 2010 - Paris to Brussel, then to Rotterdam, then to Einhoven

Last stop in our Europe trip is my sis's current residence at Einhoven (Amsterdam). Woke up very early to go to the train station to take Thalys (express train to Brussel then to Rotterdam before changing the internal Amsterdam train.The train network & seats in Europe are pretty big & on time (minus the hiccup in Epernay).

Finally.. reached my sis's apartment! Love her apartment to bits. Nice view & home by yourself is really nice.

After putting down our luggage, we went out to shop & had a buffet dinner at Einhoven central. Came back with bags full of Zara and H&M clothes, perfumes & lotsa body shop lotions (mum bot for my aunts).

31 Dec 2010 - Amsterdam

The next day, we took a 1hr train to Amsterdam and spent the whole day shopping!

Europe Trip - Paris (Part III)

29 Dec 2010 - Epernay

Took a 2hrs train to Epernay for Moet & Chandon tour & reached the little town just before lunch.

We ate at this French restaurant that's super duper good.. until now I'm still loving the escargot.

Luckily we reached slightly before lunch & managed to get a table before the lunch crowd. Ambiance was nice too. We ordered 2 flasks of rose wine to share & it was nice. Cheers!

We ordered a 3 course set meal each & it was soooo good!!!! But the serving time was a little long.. I guess French people like to sit down & talk during meals. We took 2hrs plus to eat lunch & were nearly late for our tour.

First up were the appetizers. We order different appetizers so that we could try all of them. Mine was the smoked salmon, my mum's was foie gras with prawns & avocado & my sis's ham was the worst. Actually I think the ham is not that bad.. juz that maybe the serving was too much for an appetizer. My sis & I ordered escargot on top of the set lunch to share & it was delicious! I love the herb thingy they use to cook the escargot. Simply heavenly & I don't mind going Epernay again & this restaurant specifically for the escargot.

Next was the main course & we were so boring we all ordered the same dish because we didn't understand what the rest of the dishes were. The menu was in FRENCH & the waitress can't really speak English. Nonetheless, the salmon was nice & the pasta was very well cooked & flavored too (although it looks plain here).

Lastly, we had to ask the waitress to serve dessert & we basically gobbled our dessert up because we were running late. Then we practically ran to the Moet factory.. luckily the waitress gave us some directions. If not, we'll be so lost.

After the tour, we had champagne tasting. We registered for the same type of champagne tour thinking if we register diff ones, we'll be brought to diff cellar. Actually the type of champagne is what we get to drink at the end. So some groups actually ordered diff so they can share & try a variety. Nonetheless, we bot a bottle of rose & a bottle grand so we got to try all too!

The normal Moet & Chandon champagne in their signature flute. Cheers!

And then it's time to leave Epernay.. so sad. I like this place. Snowy & cold outside.

Reached the train station & was told the train employees went on STRIKE! So our trains were cancelled. We spent 1 hr waiting at the station before taking a cab back to Paris & the cab fare cost us ard 250 euro.

Day started well but didn't end too well.

Europe Trip - Paris (Part II)

28 Dec 2010 - Paris

It was a long and tiring day because we went to quite a few attractions in a day! Louvre, Arc De Triomphe, Champ Elysees, and Eiffel Tower.. covered all in a day! Omg!!!!! That's quite a number of places. We could have gone to Notre Dame Cathedral too when we change train there but we were too tired and we still had to buy train tickets to Epernay for the next day. The queue for the Epernay tickets was long and we were so tired and exhausted at the end of the day, we had mac for dinner instead of some fancy French cuisine because we were tired to search for food. Mac was quite convenient because it was on our 2mins walk back to our hotel from the subway and we could takeaway to eat in the comfort of our room and rest early.

Start of our 2nd day in Paris.. woke up bright and early, bought pastry from the famous bakery near our hotel and arrived at our 1st destination.. Louvre museum at 9am. We bought 2 pastries each, 1 choc + 1 croissant but I dropped my choc bun and I was soooo sad because it was nice and I only ate half! That's the problem of eating on the go.. but it saves time. Loitered around Louvre for ard 1hr to take photos and walked around to soak in the beautiful architecture. We didn't go into the museum because it was closed. I didn't intend to go in anyway although my colleagues told me it's a must. I don't think I'll admire those art pieces other than Mona Lisa and it wouldn't be worth it to go in and search for Mona Lisa for a few hrs only to stand in front for 5mins.

Moving on to Arc De Triomphe.. I like this attraction.. Paying to go up there was quite worth it.

Stopped by this grab & go cafe and we each bought a cup of Cappuccino.. Haha.. Firstly, drinking hot stuff can keep you warm. Secondly, my mum is someone who needs a cup of coffee a day to satisfy her caffeine craving. Thirdly, my sis is still feeling hungry.. she says the pastries are not filling.

We need to climb lotsa spiral stairs.. and everyone was panting.

Arrived at the 1st storey and rested for awhile.. spent some time looking at the exhibitions.

Finally, we've reached the top of Arc de Triomphe! In english, Arc de Triomphe means Triumphal Arch, and in chinese, it's called Kai3 Xuan2 Meng2. It is used to honor those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and the Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces.

The roads all meet at Arc de Triomphe so from Arc de Triomphe, we can see the roads diverging like stars.

After that, it's Shopping time!!! I wasn't in the mood for shopping because it was drizzling.. everywhere was wet and I just felt gloomy like the sky.

Eyes brightened up at the Mont Blanc shop.. I wanted to buy at wallet for Chris from there.. but because it's the X'mas season, all their wallets with coin pouch are sold out. They only had 1 left which didn't look nice. Luckily, I managed to get one I like at Amsterdam.

The renowned 101 Louis Vuitton.. where I bought a small neverfall bag. I had been thinking of getting it before I went Paris already. Actually I don't understand why people like to shop in Paris.. it's so so so crowded and filled with either China-Chinese or Black-French. Luckily I was served by a nice salesgirl but I had to wait there for quite some time before she came over to serve me. Requested to see the bag from a salesgirl at that counter but she told me she's serving this grp of Chinese and she can't serve me! I was so pissed. That group was like they want to see this this this but in the end, they didn't get any when I left. I've already decided what I want, so if she's smart, she can serve me already and still go back to handle them. Well.. I'm glad someone else served me instead and I got what I want.

After getting my LV bag, it's Lunch time and I had planned to eat Jap cuisine. I've researched and there are a couple of nice Jap restaurants around Champs Elysees but we did not manage to find any after walking for close to an hr. By then, we were so tired, we settled for a Chinese restaurant instead. Food and restaurant deco were nice.. so we were contented.

Everything we ordered were seafood-related.. Tofu with King Prawns, Assorted Dim Sum, Broccoli with Crab Claws and Scallop.

After lunch, we continued with our shopping but after that, we realized we shopped at the wrong place. We should have gone to La-fayette shopping mall instead because that's where tourists shop at with lotsa discount and tax rebate. Shopping at Champs Elysees was a bit irritating because the shops are not linked, they are individual buildings. I didn't buy any clothes because nothing caught my eyes. Only my mum bought some clothes from Zara for work and we left for Eiffel Tower at ard 4pm.

At the top level.. which was covered in fog. We shouldn't have bought the tix to the top when the counter told us there's heavy fog and visibility limited. Didn't expect it to be so bad. So we went down very quickly.

Running out of storage space on blogger already.. so I'm going to figure out a way to blog photos without having to purchase additional storage.

Europe Trip - Paris (Part I)

27 Dec 2010 - Interlaken to Basel, then to Paris

It was a long day spent on train, train & more trains! It started off quite nice & happy but then our train to Paris was delayed for an hr! We practically sat in the train waiting for it to move off! If we were informed before we board the train, we could have at least spent the time to explore Basel.

Went down for breakfast at 9am.. had a nice breakfast again! I love Hotel Oberland's breakfast! Super delicious! Even their cereals is damn nice!

Shopping for more chocs while waiting for the POST bus. Transport is ex! A 5mins bus ride costs 10CHF! But our hotel gave us free bus pass so it's great & the bus is pretty spacious to lug our luggage on.

Reached Interlaken Ost train station.. departing at 11am. The station is very pretty right? Everything about switzerland is very neat & pretty.. *love* :)

Another thing I like about switzerland is their trains are freaking clean & spacious with huge windows! Here r some photos of me admiring the beautiful scenery outside! Gosh.. I'm falling in love with Switzerland! <3

More reasons to love switzerland.. photos along the way from Interlaken to Basel.. So pretty they look unreal right?

Train stations along the way.. Spiez, Olten and finally arriving at Basel for lunch. We had pasta at a cafe before changing to TGV lyria, which is a high speed train to Paris.

Happily sitted in the train.. we chase a guy away because we had booked the seats! It's expensive to book but totally worth it. We got the best seats (4seaters) coz it's alot more spacious than those 2seaters kind and there's 1 station in Paris where alot of pple board it & had to stand because there's no seats left.

My smile turned to frown when we had to wait 1hr to depart! It became worst when the train gets increasingly crowded with french speaking pple!

Finally arrived in Paris! Was supposed to arrive at 5pm and I actually planned some night activities but had to cancel coz we only reached our hotel at 8pm?!?!? The subway is so chaotic!

We settled for mac near our hotel and slept without touching the blankets! It was a 2star hotel but it was horrible.. so horrible, I was busy complaining that I didn't take any photos. The deco was actually very nice. They had nice wallpapers and all but it feels creepy and I don't dare to lift up the blankets to sleep inside fearing I'll see stains and all. Europe Trip - Switzerland (Part II)

26 Dec 2010 - Heaven on Earth Tour Package (Glacier + Mt Jungfrau + Ice Palace)

Woke up at 7am coz we were feeling very hungry! Haha.. coz we skipped dinner & slept at I think 8pm?

Wash up went for breakfast at 8am. Omg!!! The breakfast area was super duper grand with lotsa variety! We were overwhelmed & was so so so happy that we skipped dinner last night! The food was also delicious. I love the bacon & corn flakes! They had my favorite coco crunch!!!! *love*

Went back to hotel room to get dressed for the tour. Wore extra jacket inside for top but only had tights & jeans for bottoms. But the tights my sis bought for me were real good!!! They can really keep me warm!

Here's some photos of our spacious hotel room, it has a balcony somemore! :) Toilet was big & clean too with bathtub, hair dryer & portable warm water but realized we didn't take any photos.

Strolled to the Casino again at 10am & played around while waiting for the tour bus which is supposed to depart from the Casino Gallery at 11am. Look at the mountain behind the Casino! We could see the top today! The weather was great! Snow cleared & sky was very blue. *splendid*

Off we go.. up up up the winding mountain on a coach! I love the X'mas Trees! Snow-covered and real!

The Alps & some people skiing.. Cool!

1st train we took.. quite cool.. the windows can pull down to experience the cold air & take photos.

Changing to a more grand train to the top of Europe, Mt Jungfrau!!! Everywhere is white snow, making the background very bright, which explains why I'm wearing shades. Some of the photos I take without flash, all with the help of natural sunshine. However, as Europe is located at the northern hemisphere, temperate country, sun shines at an angle. Even at mid-noon, I think the sun is not overhead. Therefore, some photos look dark but I think they are nicer than those with flash.

The weather outside reads -23.6degrees.. it's not very cold I think but I met with a helicopter landing when I went out so the wind was strong!!!!

And we are out!! I'm missing the snow & wind now that I blog!!!

My sis & mum! My mum's windpants aren't that ugly afterall.. haha.. she specially bought it from OG for 60dollars to wear here but she only went out for awhile & hike maybe 10m! After that, she went indoor already.

Arrival of the helicopter!!!! OMG!!!! HIDE!!!! The wind was strong! Look at the snow flying all over!

Hiked further up to this point & the scenery was breathtaking! Wind was strong too, I can't stand still and my sis was so afraid I'll fly away or fall over the edge. It's really dangerous!

Tired out after maybe 15mins of intensive floating about and taking in the 360degree scenery.

At Grindelwald-First.. a Skiing / Sledging paradise. We planned to try but decided not to after looking at the gears. Figured that we'll probably end up with bruises & I'm still sick. I hope to come back Switzerland again next time and try these!

Had Italian dinner back at Interlaken.. at a restaurant called Piz Paz.. highly recommended online & it was a right choice. I love the mussels pizza! We ordered without knowing it's mussels and it's delicious! Pizza crust was also great. Not too thin nor thick. The curry puff looking thing was nice too. Mushroom & ham inside. Had red wine again & those 4euro red wine are really cheap & good. Our daily dosage of greens.. salad was nice too. Dressing was uniquely nice! Tee Hee.. I love my switzerland experience.

I love ice creams! Think my sore throat & cough never recover coz I keep eating ice cream. ;p

Total Spending for Switzerland - S$2400 (1.6k accomodation & tour, 0.8k on souvenirs & meals)

*Switzerland is an expensive country for holiday but worth it! The experience is priceless! Love it to bits and the snow adds on to the winter wonderland experience. My mum is thinking of going in summer to see the green mountains & trees but I dun think it's gonna be nice. Dear.. Can we go Switzerland for Honeymoon?

Europe Trip - Switzerland (Part I)

24 Dec 2010 - Zurich

Touched down at Zurich airport on X'mas eve & spend the afternoon sleeping in hotel.. I love the hotel. It's e most expensive & nicest hotel which I stayed in Europe (CHF 230 per night).

My mum pushing her super huge luggage.. but v light up the train from Zurich Kloten airport to Zurich HB main train station. Our hotel (Walhalla) is located just beside the train station (2mins walk) so it was pretty convenient for us.

My nice bed with a nice scenery of the swiss national museum just beside the hotel across the lake. We tried to explore around on ourselves in the morning but ended up feeling lost and cold so went back to hotel.

Luckily, after sleeping through the 14hrs flight, due to consumption of 8 panadols (this is the max dosage for adults), and sleeping through the afternoon, my fever went away!

Sister reached our hotel ard 5pm & we went out for dinner ard 6pm. All shops were closed so we had to settle for mac dinner. Nonetheless, it was nice because I have not eaten mac for some time. Chris is on a no fast-food diet so almost every meal with him is jap cuisine for the past few weeks.

The christmas lighting was very simple but very nice.. with the snow topping it off.

25 Dec 2010 - Zurich to Bern via Thun, then from Bern to Interlaken

Woke up at ard 7am for a hearty breakfast before taking a train to Interlaken. Interlaken is a city at the foot of the mountains, which explains the inaccessibility.

Arrived at Interlaken at 11am.

Exploring the little city.. Seeking shelter from the snow storm and that's the last of my beloved boots. I was so engrossed with the scenery that I missed a step and fell from the pavement onto the road.

The breathtaking scene which made me trip...

Walked back to hotel and changed to my Puma sneakers before heading back to the same place for photo-taking.

Had a late lunch at Bebbis Restaurent. It's a swiss restaurant which was rated very highly for the ambience but very lowly for the food online.

Cheers... Europe is a country where wine is cheaper than other drinks on the menu.

Lotsa Salads.. Very fresh vegetables! *like*

Our lunch + dinner.. the serving was huge! Compare the size of the plates with my sister's face! lol.. I love the swiss rosti (baked potato with cheese on top) served with bacon, sausages and egg. The pork chop with cheese and ham inside was horrible.. the meat is too think and there's too much fries!

Continued to explore the city.. walked to the casino which was near our hotel to checkout the meeting place for the top-of-europe tour which we are going the next day.

The casino was situated at the foot of a mountain. Grand and Magnificent! Due to the bad weather.. snow storm.. we could only see half the mountain. The rest is covered with snow. Thankfully, the weather cleared the next day and we had a great excursion to the top-of-europe.

26 November 2010 - HP Annual DnD @ Marina Bay Sands (Part II & III)

Went into the ballroom at ard 730pm.. and it was really an eye opener for me! It was really huge! Seating capacity of 2500-3000 people.. Truely amazing & I'm so proud of my company!

The display at the start of DnD.. very glamorous indeed.. HP's design & marketing strategy has always impress me.

The menu.. very delicious! I love the abalone! It's not those small small kind but I was too focused on eating that I didn't take any photos. I love the mayo prawns too.. they were sooo huge, I need to cut into 2 to eat. A pity I missed the last 2 dishes because my boss came to my table & the bosses started opening bottles & bottles of red wine.

First dish.. and we were seated at table 127.. think there were 250+ tables in total.

My mentor finally made her way here! She seldom drives so was quite worried when the dinner started & she's not here yet.. but her car is red plate car so she can only leave at 7pm.

Laughing my lungs out.. because Jane's expression & singing is really emotional.

Laughed so hard, my cheeks are aching.. Lol.. Sang until 3plus before we call it a day and mentor sent me home.

Ubin Teambuilding

1st Oct 2010 marks my 1st teambuilding with HP PI group! The most physically challenging team building ever!!!

It was a sunny day! Met my mentor, Mei Fang at Pasir Ris MRT before sharing a cab to Changi Ferry Terminal. Reached the terminal at 930am & thought we were early before realizing the rest of the team had reached earlier & were having breakfast at Changi Village.

After everyone reached, applied sun block & mosquito repellent, we boarded the bumboat & headed for a secluded island called Pulau Ubin!!

The bicycle rental shop.. We rented the bikes at $5 for the whole day.. but in the end, we only cycled for 2hrs in the morning.

1st rest point.. It's actually not a rest point but the scenery was pretty nice so I suggested to half of the team who were slower behind to stop for photo taking after cycling for 10mins? Hee.. trying to take a break for myself.. ;p

Boss was in my team together with Leong Yap, Andrew Yew, Sooi Hong & her 2 kids. Leong Yap was cycling in front together with Andrew, Sooi Hong & the kids. I was in the 2nd half because I was slower or rather admiring the scenery? Boss was cycling behind me & I could sensed that Boss was always on the look-out for me.. taking care of me. He alighted when he saw me alight to take photo.. standing at the side waiting for me. He knows that I don't have driving license so before we set off he teased me asking me to get down & push at the slopes but I know he doesn't mean it. When I couldn't go up a long & steep slope, I got down to push.. & he got down as well.. saying he also give up.. Haha.. it's really very long & alot of pple got down to push too!

The young & adventurous few went on a rocky trail while the older (>30yrs old) headed back for lunch. Some parts of the terrain were really strenous.. & we had to get off our bikes & carry it up. The guy colleagues were really nice to helped us carry the bikes across the drains. At 1 point, I was feeling so tired that I just stopped & one of my principle engineer (Wee Keong) offered to help me carry my bike while I climbed up myself. In the end, I still endured & went up myself! So proud of myself for not giving up! At another point, I really couldn't cycle anymore & Fion stopped with me.. The kind of looking after one another spirit really touched me alot. It's something which I've never experienced before & the true kind character shone through.

The guys in my team are really nice!! The girls are even nicer! I love Jane the most among the girls because she's the one who introduced me to alot of company benefits & go for morning breakfast together with me! She's very pretty right? I love her eyes!! *smilez*

At the end of the tough terrain, we saw this.. not something fantastic & definitely not worth the pain. Nonetheless, I really treasured the team spirit & helpful character within each & everyone of my colleagues.

After the long & tedious morning cycle, my arms & legs were all tired & felt like jellyfish.. all of us were offered a coconut each.. the cold coconut drink tasted really heavenly! *imagine* Here's MY COCONUT! *yummy*

Steamed Prawns.. Half the plate gone.. Haha.. it's really big & sweet..

Lastly, we had Chilli Crabs!!!!! I had 1 pincer & a fried Man Tou.. Super FULL!

After lunch, we had a mentally challenging game. Each team was supposed to come up with a Business Plan.

Lazy afternoon started with Klunch @ clementi.. Met up with my sec 3/4 classmates, Xunning, Qianning & Wansean! A great gathering.. *love gals outing*

My fellow bandmate, Xunning, since Sec 1-4.. went to HCJC together but couldn't get in after 3 mths.. switched to NJC together.. joined band together.. shared alot of memorable moments. Still remember conductor scolding me during yr 2 national youth festival competition for a short solo rhythm which I couldn't play well. Then she'll teach me & make sure I get it even though she's in another section (saxophone). Even my own section leader din't bother teaching me lor.. Really very touched now that I think of it. *hugz*

After 3hrs of singing, we went Qian Ning's hse for an afternoon of mahjong session!!!! Fun.. & I won 30 cents!!! *happy* It's my 1st time playing mahjong outside home.. usually only play during cny with my relatives at home.

Next up was an extremely cozy dinner at a coffeeshop near Qian Ning's hse.. Ordered Coffee Pork Ribs, Ngoh Hiang, Lala Soup, & Beans.. I love the bean dish the most!!!

Today is a happy day!

Currently I'm addicted to a Korean drama called ai ni qian wan chi.. only slept at 2am last night & woke up at 8am to continue. Hee.. Watched till 3pm, came online to arrange timing to chat with my sis tonight before going out with Chris for dinner cum shopping.

Highlight for the night: Cupcakes at Dessert Factory

Had an early dinner because I only ate cup noodles for lunch. Got to eat e bugis duck rice which I've been craving for since yesterday. :)

Went shopping at bugis street & bought a dress! Yeah! I got new dress for work! I'm actually quite troubled with what to wear for work because my colleagues dress up everyday! So far, for the past 2 weeks I've not seen them repeat their dress/attire. I cannot lose out & repeat mine right? 1 of them even put on make up & bluff her nails in office! OMG!!!! They are all acting like tai tai lah.. but I believe some of them are lah.. judging by the bags they carry & the cars they drive & they've already worked in Hp for 10+ years!

Oppz.. I digress from the topic. So it was a good shopping trip because Dear managed to buy his bag for work as well because his previous briefcase spoil already.

So we were heading to take bus 197 home to webcam with my sis when a Cupcake mascot approached us. I was like ignoring & telling Dear not to take the coupon. Luckily Dear took & we got a good deal to try out their cupcakes because it's their opening special! 1 Cupcake + 1 Drink for $2!!!

We were e 1st customers for the night & their service & decorations were pretty good & cozy. Here's their specialty drink, ice milk tea with chocolate syrup.

More photos on their layout. I like the pots of flowers on the window ledge. *sweet* The eat me fridge stores the cakes & cupcakes. I bought a chocolate cheesecake home but has yet to try it so dunno whether it's nice. The cupcakes are nice though.. I wanna learn how to make cupcakes!!!

We also ordered a strawberry baileys cupcake which I don't really fancy but not bad too. It has a sweet heart in the center.

Here's my hot white choco mocha with marshmallows! I love the marshmallows! It's very small & soft but not soggy. The service was great too because I told the sales girl I wanted something light so the white chocolate was not too thick. Guess that makes the drink nicer to go with the sweet cupcakes!

3rd Day of Work @ Hp today!!!

Nice day at work with a new mentor, attended a super chim course on logics & circuits schematic diagram. I shouldn't have tagged along because the rest of my colleagues are already mid-way into that course. Feel so dumb!

Highlight for the day: Dinner with my Ex-Boss IVAN

Feels soooooo happy to meet my Ex-Boss for dinner! All the food items were pre-ordered by him & they were all delicious! Boss also kept helping me take food & it's so nice to just chat & eat!

I was so engrossed with eating, I only rem to take photo halfway thru the dinner. Mentor & Shiyun were late so there were some food left & Boss helped me re-arrange the food to take photos! Hee.. *nice*

1st dish was Thai Fishcake.. to dip with the peanut chilli sauce.

Next dish was Fried Fish with Thai Mango Salad! I really like the salad because it's very refreshing! Boss again helped to distribute the mango salad.. it looks untouched right?

3rd dish was Stuffed Chicken Wings. I dun really fancy this dish but it's also nice.

4th dish was Olive Fried Rice with Onions, Lime, Nuts & Chillies. I only mix with the lime & nuts. It's fried rice but it doesn't taste oily at all & there's also no olive smell/taste. Thumbs Up!

5th dish was Mixed Mushroom Dish. I like the veg & I love mushrooms! There's all kinds of mushroom in this dish & I like it! *yummy*

6th & 7th dish are soup dishes, Tom Yam Gong & Thai Green Chicken Curry. I learnt that there's 2 kinds of Tom Yam today, with & without Coconut Milk. The one we had was with Coconut milk. Although it looks like Laksa, it tastes like Tom Yam. I also learnt that Gong means Prawns & it's actually not Gong but pronounced like Gong. Lol.. Anw, they are superbly cooked to perfection too.

And we finished all the dishes!!! Cool right? Only 5 of us!

HK + Macau Trip 22-27 Jul 10

Day 1: 22 Jul 10 - Tsing Yi, Tsim Sha Shui, Jordan

Had Mac breakfast at Changi Budget Terminal before boarding the flight on Tigers to Hong Kong. Touched down at 11am, tried the famous Xu Ru Shan Mango+Coconut drinks before taking the 15mins airport express to Maritime Square at Tsing Yi for Tim Sum!

Gosh.. the tim sum are super duper yummy!! *delicious* & the people there have a cutlery washing culture before they eat. It's super cool.. Here I'm washing the cups unprofessionally. After that, I watched the couple sharing same table as us wash theirs & learnt! Haha..

After a very filling lunch, we took a cab to hotel & checked in before taking the free shuttle bus to Tsim Sha Shui. Here's the star ferry pier where alot of hong kong shows are filmed. The sky was a lil gloomy & soon it started pouring!! :(

In front of a nice building & fountain.. a policeman helped us take this photo. I'm really fascinated to see all these policemen dressed in green uniforms! *Exactly like those policemen we see in HK dramas*

Took a train to Jordan & it started pouring so we seek shelter in a Cha Can Ting & had sandwiches for tea break.

Rain stopped abit & we went out to walk around before it started pouring again & all the subways are making black announcement. Not too sure what it was so we still tried to go out onto the street. Then it started pouring heavier & the skies are all black & streets are all flooded. My slippers were all soaked so we bought a pair of wedges each & went back hotel after a horrible dinner. We were searching for roasted stuff dinner but in vain & settled for their Zi Cha which was way too salty.

Day 2: 23 Jul 10 - Mongkok, Central, The Peak, Lan Kuai Fong

Took hotel's free shuttle to Mongkok & realized we are too early for shopping! All the shops open after lunch, so we had breakfast at a cozy Cha Can Ting. I love the soupy macaroni & wanton noodles.

We loitered around before having Itamae Sushi (branch at Ion Orchard) for lunch.

Took train to Central, wanted to walk to Peak Tram station but Sis was complaining of leg pain & glumpy so we took a cab & sat down for a cup of Mocha at TCC before queuing for our Tram ride.

At the foot of the peak.. feeling happy before we saw the long queue!

Look at the number of people.. it's crazy for a weekday.. maybe because it's Friday.

Waiting for the tram & getting up was really excited because people are pushing from behind. Luckily my sis was heavy enough to help me block the people from pushing me & I managed to get up before her & found a seat by the window!

Luckily we had a seat.. because the ascend up the peak was really steep & angled. I was physically falling & the seat was the only support preventing me from falling. Cool experience.

Reached the Peak, lotsa photo taking.. Pls skip this section if you are bored because the photos aren't taken with a professional D-SLR, just my plain Canon Ixus.

Had dinner at a nice restaurant there. Price was exorbitant but ambience was great. Thankfully for the night scene which made up for the costly dinner.

After exiting from the Tram station, we saw a long queue for a public bus & to our surprise, it's an open air bus!!! Extreme madness & experience at cheap price! *happy*

Alighted at Central & saw a very pretty Coach outlet, it's really pretty right? It's my sis's 1st time stepping into a Coach shop.. Hee.. ;p

Short walk to Lan Kwai Fong, their clubs & pubs area. We went early so the clubs are playing jazzy & oldies & not so rowdy yet.

After a drink & some nice songs, took the free shuttle back to hotel again. Quite like the shuttle bus, it's clean & the exterior is cute. *Heart Panda Hotel*

Day 3: 24 Jul 10 - Lantau Island, Ngong Ping Cable Car, Great Buddha, Citygate Factory Outlet Shopping

Yum Cha at Tsing Yi Maritime Square again.. I think we went there for all our high class tim sum before going to the places of attractions. There are numerous Tim Sum restaurants there & all look nice.

Arrived at the Ngong Ping Cable Car station & there was a long queue. Bought the Crystal Cabin tix which costs HK50 more per person in order to cut the 1hr long queue! I think it's worth it.

Initially I was pretty scared because it's a long ride up the mountainous areas. Thankfully the ride was very stable & I could enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Climbing up the 260 stairs the the Great Buddha wasn't easy. *Pant*

View was fantastic & we were so near to the sky!!

On our way down, here's the HK airport. Photo of the crystal cabin floor, the sea is just below us.

Shopped non-stop at Citygate factory outlet, bought a lot of clothes & jeans from Espirit. Tabao Hui Lau Shan Mango & Pomelo Sago dessert back to hotel for supper. *grinz*

The stuff we bought.. I didn't realized I bought 5 black/dark coloured tops in total until my sis told me that I'm boring, the tops I buy are all similar. *bleahz*

Day 4: 25 Jul 10 - Macau, The Venetian

Woke up bright & early & took the free shuttle to ferry terminal before realizing we forgot to bring our passport!!! Ah!!!! Bought a 2hrs later tix & took a cab back to hotel. Settled for Tim Sum breakfast at hotel before heading to the ferry terminal again.

Reached macau around 1pm & took the free shuttle to the Venetian. It's the casino-hotel which F4 filmed in. My fav Ju Jun Biao!!!! It's a dream place I wanted to go. I forgo the Ruins of St Paul & stayed the whole afternoon there because it's simply too big to finish exploring in half a day.

To finish off the dreamland meteor garden experience, I bought 2 tickets for the gondola ride! I was smiling happily throughout the whole ride. :)

Day 5: 26 Jul 10 - Maritime Square Spa, Prince Edward Ladies Street, Jordan Temple Street, Tsim Sha Shui

Had Tim Sum bunch at our hotel again before heading to Maritime Square for our Spa session.

Back to Maritime Square. Q&A health spa is a new spa outlet opened there recently but they've a few branches all over hk already. 50SGD for a spa package, did my 1st facial there & it feels really good & smooth. Was abit painful when the beautician squeeze my blackheads but after that she helped me apply all those nice smelling creams. I enjoyed the body massage session too.

More shopping after that at Tsim Sha Shui before heading for the juicy but oily roasted duck+pig+cha sao+sao rou dinner.

Ending off with some photos of the hotel room. I really like it alot. Every night I'll lie on bed snuggled up to watch TVB hong kong shows until 2am before falling asleep. Nitez......

15th July 2010 (thursday) TECH Photo Module Teambuilding Day

My team (Zhong Liang, Me & Wu Xia) at lane 10.. apparently, our team is also the 10th team in the scoring.

A photo with my Ex-EM (engineering manager) Calvin Chen.. young & outstanding.. Initially I didn't like him because I felt he was too young to take over Chuan Ge's position when he left for Intel. However, soon I started to like him. He pays attention to my presentation during morning meetings & bothers to have a heart-to-heart chat with me. Taught me to fight for my own findings/efforts/discoveries.

My score on the last row.. I had a strike.. in fact I had 3 strikes in total that day. Some of them were really zai & cool.. I think I'm not too bad too! However, I went home with an almost fractured 3rd left finger because it clamped between 2 balls accidentally. I think I was pretty brave to hide this embarrassing moment & still carried on the game. In the past, I think I would have burst out in tears already.

After 3 rounds of bowling games, we headed to Resort World Sentosa where a nice buffet awaits..

The delicious spread of nice food.. a pity my mensus came after bowling so I didn't have much appetite. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the desserts & ice cream there! *yummy*

Bali Double Date Trip 11-14 Mar 10

1st trip of this year.. 2nd double date trip with Yuhan & Alywn.. Nice to go on trips with them because they're fun & nice pple. Better to travel in groups of 4, a good size to move from place to place.

11 Mar 10 - Had popeye for dinner before boarding the plane. Touched down & the hotel staff was there dressed in traditional costume to fetch us.

After some sight-seeing at a batik factory, we head for WHITE WATER RAFTING! Didn't manage to take photo of those exciting moments because we were in a moment of frantic. The white water rafting company took some photos & videos of our journey but it's too expensive to buy so we'll make do with the memory.

Took a shower at the end of the adventure.. head to see some active volcano.. Here's us taking a tea break in a cafe with the volcano opposite..

Next stop is the coffee plantation.. had alot of coffee tasting.. Dear & the rest shared a cup of cat's poo's coffee that's damn ex & looks damn grossed!

Next is the rice plantation..

Followed by Tanah Lot.. the famous temple in the middle of the sea.. u can see pple crossing the shallow waters to the temple.

Lastly, Dinner at Jimbayran Bay Seafood Restaurant.. Sunset dining on the sandy beach..

Our feast which I didn't quite like.. and my legs got bitten by alot of sand flies!!! Until now I still have the sand flies bites scars.. but no longer itchy.

13 Mar 10 - That's the cafe behind us.. Waiting at the lobby to be fetch to the shopping mall..

After some shopping around, we went to Kuta Beach.. while the guys went to do some surfing, Yuhan & I had our nails done on the beach.. Wad bad gfs right? Never go take photos of the guys surfing.. hahaha.. the sun is too unbearably HOT! Our nails are pretty! Hee.. :)

After sunbathing & lazing on the beach for the whole afternoon, we had dinner at a balinese restaurant..

Spent our last night together in the hotel's swimming pool.. Hee.. very nice pool to ourselves because nobody swims at night.. *grinz* Actually I wonder if anyone uses the pool because when we went in the morning, it's empty too. Dear brought a floating ball along.. adds on to the fun!

Talked to boss again last night.. coz I was so stressed, I burst out in office & exclaimed that I don't want to work already!

Part of me wants to solve the problem.. but part of me is overwhelmed by the amount of things I need to do!

So he called me to his cubicle & told me something which I think is very true.. to pace myself.. which I seriously need.. if not my energy will be drained by 1 mth.

Morale at work is very low.. pple are leaving.. pple are complaining to me.. I'm complaining to pple.. the mood is just not right.. sad. :(

It's my b'day today!!!! I shouldn't be upset.. should be happy happy.. shalala.. Muz stay cheerful.. muz really try to stay positive.

So Stressed!!! Having headache! I've a love-hate relationship with work!

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! My head is bursting.. keeps thinking abt work. Work actually left my mind for a day today until I just received a call from office again! Back to work tmr.. back to stress & tremendous pressure. I hope I can survive......

My favourite boss! *twigz* I'm smiling so happily because I'm taking photo w the nicest boss on earth! Maybe not the nicest on earth (that's abit exaggerating) but to me he's the nicest. He told me alot of things which I rem very clearly coz they are all v wise & true words.. or rather words that touches my heart.

Once he told me that work is just to earn a living, what really matters is not work but our lives outside work. Therefore, we must have work life balance & don't take work so seriously.. so from then on, I take things easier.

Then another instance which he touched me was when he said that he'll be my listening ear even if he can't solve my problems.. be it work related or outside work. I can always find him to talk. Sweet rite? Maybe the way I phrase it is not as good as him but at that instance when he talked to me, I really felt very touched & glad to have him as my boss.

Occasionally he'll call me to his cubicle & chit chat with me, go through issues with me, go through my work. At least, I feel that there's someone reading my work & I'm not wasting time doing them. And most of the times, it's one-to-one sessions, which I feel is better because I don't really like to present to alot of pple. I prefer discussion one-to-one, be it to my boss/meeting other departments. Feel that it's more conducive & productive than a long meeting inside a meeting room.

He also reads every email I sent him! My weekly report he'll help me rephrase in a short & sweet manner, teaches me alot of things, gives me alot of encouragements & motivations!

At a point of time when I wanted to quit, he spoke to me (dunno whether he knows I've the quitting intention).. & made me feel that I still have some prospects in this company. Guess it's the way he phrase things. Now, I'm happily working in the same company after 1 & 1/2 yr! It's a pretty long period.. & I'm willing to stay even longer. At least for now, I don't have the quitter mindset. :)

Decided to change my title from Carousel treat to dedicate this entry to my favourite boss.. I know he won't be reading this but I'm writing this like a diary in a form of happy memories I can look back on next time.

Merry Christmas & Happy Boxing Day to all!

I had a happy X'mas day! :) Dear brought me to Changi Village, his commando camp, Changi Beach to see planes take-off & land, & lastly the road that he did his 72km road march last time. Feels proud to have a boyfriend like him.

Thanks Dear for tolerating all my nonsense, tantrum & unreasonable demands at times.. Thanks for coming to office to fetch me this week coz I had to work every single day. It makes working on X'mas eve, X'mas day & boxing day more enjoyable because I can look forward to 6pm when U come & fetch me. Thanks to Chris's brother for lending him the car too. It allows us to go alot of places that we couldn't have gone without the accessibility of a car.. such as the field that we went to see, changi & east areas.

It's a happy day today!

Went driving in the morning.. pretty good.. didn't get much scolding from the instructor. Expected some scolding coz it's been 2 weeks since I last drove. (Was away on holiday.. went Hanoi. Will blog abt it in the next entry.. Need some time to organize the photos today & narrate my last 2 days there.. which was quite bad coz I fell pretty sick.)

Met 2 insurance agent in the afternoon & signed an insurance plan. At least it'll make me save diligently more.. & spend less!

Went Dear's hse for dinner.. which was nice. Settled some stuff tog.. shall not talk abt it now before we get it.

Book Bali holiday in March tog... going w YuHan & Alywn (2nd couple trip tog, 1st was langkawi.. n not counting e australia trip coz that was in a big group.. they are a nice couple.).. Looking Forward!

Finally.. when I reached home, Mummy told me I've a letter from Wansean!

Seannie.. She says she thinks it's frm u because she saw e stamp frm Australia.. & indeed it was. :)

Touched by what u wrote inside.. it's sweet. Thanks for all the well wishes & it makes me feel bad for not writing u a letter or card for sooooo long.. only talking to u on msn occasionally when I feel frustrated & needed someone to talk to. Thanks for always being there.. even though u r miles away. Love ya lots!!!!

Looking forward to meeting Dear tonight.. we are celebrating our 4 years anniversary!

4 years of courtship.. time flies.. how I wish time can go back to 4 years ago.. I really hate to grow up.. Hate to grow old.. As one ages, tends to think more.. tends to see the changes in life.. tends to face more obstacles and difficulties.. Thanks Dear for being there for me this 4 years.

Today started off on a happy note. Woke up early.. Chatted with Sheena on MSN.. 1st thing she said was happy 4 years anniversary to me n Chris. Thanks Sheena.

I don't have a lot of friends.. not to say close friends. Maybe because I'm not someone who keeps in touch. Maybe I'm not a fun person that people like to hang out with. Therefore, I'm glad to meet a friend like sheena who's there for me most of the time when I needed someone.

Hmm.. Supposed to dedicate this entry to Dear.. somehow digressed. People who knows me will know that I'm someone who digress from a topic very fast and often. Dear can't stand me sometimes when he tries to tell me something then I started talking about something else.. He says very disrespectful.. But I'm like that. I get distracted easily. That's why I often lose track/sight of where I want to go. Therefore, I'm thankful that Dear is there to always bring me back on track. Be it to face life, my family, my work, my relationship, my friendships. Last time, I used to give up easily. I used to avoid problems. I've also brought up the word "break-up" numerous times unreasonably. Over the years, I've learnt to persevere, to face problems and also learnt that this is not a word to be used easily, especially when u r angry.

Alright, enough of pouring out my emotions.. Here's some photos of what we did for the night.. Sorry, the quality not v good because I forgot to bring my cam along!! Was feeling so regretful.. luckily my hp is charged, so able to take some photos with it.

At first I thought Sapphire is indoor dining. However, when we reached, realized it's outdoor. Actually not outdoor.. it's just non-aircon. Nonetheless, it's not hot at all because of the cool breeze from the surrounding. It's a building without windows, only a panel to prevent u from falling over the edge. Breath-taking view of the night scene. Lighting is dim.. *romantic* Alot of couples come here I think.. surrounding us are all couples.. After dinner, we went to the park to sit down n take in the scenery also alot of couples. The music they choose to play also super nice.. all the oldies love songs.. *love is in the air*

I like this photo.. very natural.. with natural wind blowing through my hair.. luckily the wind is not strong.. so still able to eat without my hair in my food.

After dinner, on the way out, took some more photos.. since it's our 1st time here.. with the lovely chandelier at the entrance of the restaurant..

7 May 09 - Had Popeye dinner at Changi Airport before boarding the plane to Melbourne..
8 May 09 - Splitpoint Lighthouse, Port Campbell National Park 12 Apostles, Loch Arch Gorge
Touched down at Airport at 4am, long long drive to Great Ocean Road. Had a few stops along the way to go down & see some nice sceneries along the way.

Finally reached our cottage.. put down our luggages and drove down to the 12 Apostles.. It's really country living.. in the morning we could hear the Moo Moo & Quake Quake sound coming from the field opposite.

12 Apostles.. highlight of this trip.. something I wanna see before they disappear. A few of the apostles have already collapsed over time.

Loch Arch Gorge.. started drizzling.. so we postponed London Bridge to visit tomorrow.

10 May 09 - Met up with Seannie..
Seannie was our tour guide for the day.. Firstly, she brought us to a Flea Market.. then to a Dim Sum Restaurant for lunch.. then to Victoria Market.. and lastly St Paul Cathedral. Thanks for showing us around.. Although it's a short meet up.. it was really nice! *hugz*Dinner at Pancake Parlour.. they have a cute mirror outside their restaurant.. hee.. *fatty*

11 May 09 - Date with Dear alone.. Melbourne Zoo, Melbourne University, Tiamo

Long walk from Melbourne Zoo to Melbourne University.. think it's around 2hrs walk.. then after that walk from Melbourne Uni to Italian Street for dinner.. I almost died from all the walking!!!!

Took the tram to Melbourne Zoo..

Melbourne Zoo.. very educational.. I learnt that Koalas are norturnal animals & they sleep 20hrs per day.. only wake up to eat. I also learnt that Penguins waddle because their leg don't have knee joint.. so if we have to fixed our joint, we'll also waddle like Penguins.

Melbourne Uni.. Harry Potter feel..

Tiamo stands for I love U.. hee.. nice italian food.. nice ambience.. they have overhead heater to keep us warm in this cold weather.. water in wine bottles and a heart shape tiamo on the table.. great place for couples to dine in.

12 May 09 - Caught a movie "Boy in Striped Pyjamas" before going to airport to catch fight to Sydney.

The cinema has an Anna Sui feel to it..

13 May 09 - Dolphin Cruise, Sand Boarding, Chen Shun's B'day

Dolphin Cruise.. nice.. but the taiwan dolphin cruise was better.. see more varieties of dolphins & the explanation along the way was much better.. this one nice too.. going out to sea is refreshing..Sand Boarding.. Ultimate FUN!!! Although I fell down twice & had sand all over my body.. & the climb up to slide down was tiring, it was a memorable experience! I had such a bad fall.. flew off the board.. landed face down.. sand went into my clothes n Dear had to cover me frantically while I shake the sand off.Chen Shun's B'day Celebration.. Cake Making process..

14 May 09 - Blue Mountains 1 Day Tour

Visited a Zoo to see koalas & kangaroos..

Brave Dear who isn't scared of kangaroos.. n Scardey Darling who doesn't dare to get close..

1st Scenic ride.. with Glass panel on our feet to see below..2nd Ride we took.. Steep 52degrees tram down.. I was screaming along the way.. On the real tram.. & on the fake one..

Dear was very nice because he helped me take all these pretty photos with nice angles.. Fresh Seafood at Sydney Fish Market.. to start off, 10 of us shared a seafood platter.. it's heavy!

Dinner at a nice restaurant by the harbour.. finished dinner just on time to catch the fireworks!

16 May 09 - Ferry to Manly Beach

Cam-whoring on the ferry to Manly Beach.. Nice photos of the Opera House & Harbourbridge on board the ferry.. Pictures that's so pretty, they look as if they were taken off a postcard!

Nice n cheap italian lunch.. the pizza only costs AU$5.50 for the whole pizza, not 1 slice!! Too bad I didn't realize before I place my order.. Nonetheless, the other dishes are good too.

Walked 1.5km to see this view.. Worth it?

It's truely a Great GOOD Friday! So happy to be OFF on a public holiday! Get to go out with friends & loved ones.

Initially this Easter Holiday, planned to go over to Australia to visit Seannie.. but postponed my visit till May since Chris going there for his grad trip & I'm allowed to tag along. *happy* Seannie is happying touring other parts of Sydney, Canberra etc now.. & I'll be visiting the same places in May.. Looking Forward. :)

Back to my Good Friday. Had a lazy day.. lazing around.. but quite fulfilling also coz I woke up at 8am and did quite alot of things. Met Dear at night after his soccer before meeting my JC girls (Sheena, Yuan Yuan & Fang Fang) for a girls' night out. Enjoy time spent with them... Sheena told us a good new! My dear girl has found her happiness and I'm happy for her!

Hmm.. I dunno where to start... too many things which I wanna blog about.. haven't organize my thoughts yet.. Alrighty.. shall arrange in order of events..

Firstly.. presenting to u my beloved soft-toy that keeps me happy at work.. n accompany me through my night shift.. "Zhu Zhu" aka baby piglet.. she's adorable right? She's a b'day gift from one of my colleagues.. hee.. :) She has alot of frens at work.. big, medium, small & baby Eeyore.. *grinz*

Next up, date with Dear.. haha.. actually we go dating almost every friday.. but this month, Dear is busy studying for Exams.. sobz.. but nmind.. after Exams, we r going holiday together!!! Looking forward.. Looking forward even more because I'll get to see Seannie again!!!! Extremely extremely excited to see my best friend again!! Miss her lots!!!!

Oppz.. I diverted frm the topic.. my date w Dear.. We went to Ichiban Boshi @ Esplanade for dinner.. Really yummy yummy.. I love their Lobster Salad sushi!!!

After the delicious & scrumptous dinner, we went to walk walk around Esplanade.. Esplanade has a special place in my heart.. Dear.. u rem why? After our roof-top walk n hanging around, we went back to Esplanade for dessert (Haagen Dazs ice cream).. *sweet*

22 Feb 2009 - Met up with Sheena to watch "He's just not that into you"

Great show.. great company.. I love to watch girly shows with Sheena.. Tee Hee.. Jennifer Aniston is one of my favourite actress!

After the show at Cathay, we walked over to PS.. & settled for dinner at Crystal Jade.. think the Crystal Jade just undergo some renovation.. now the place looks quite cool.. n our dinner was 3 hrs long!!!! Lol.. we ate n chatted until Chris finished his every sun soccer game then come & join us.. & we still continue chatting.. love chatting sessions.. Guess I'm a pretty "nua" person.. don't really like to walk around n shop too much.. prefers sitting down at a nice place & chat.

02 Mar 2009 - "Marley & Me" with Seannie

Went town on a Monday with Seannie.. the only person who will be free to go out with me on a Monday (when I was doing my previous tue-sat shift).. but she has left for Melbourne for her studies & I've changed to night shift. Nice to catch up before she flies back to Mel.. but meeting up makes separation harder to bear. While I'm writing this, I suddenly miss her so much. Can't wait for this month to pass faster.. coz I'll be flying over in May to visit her cum going on Chris's graduation trip. It'll be a long break from work for me.. a long needed break! I'm extremely extemely stressed.. n my colleagues are organizing a short trip during our off-days.. Looking forward. This night shift is quite enjoyable because I get alot of off-days.. definitely enough rest & time for frens & family. However, the stress level I need to handle often makes me burst out in tears.. okie.. I only burst out once. Need to handle my emotions better next time.. Read in a newspaper article recently that "Successful athletes and corporate leaders share a common quality - mental toughness." I need to work hard on self-belief, self motivation, focus & handling pressure.

02 Apr 2009 - Outing to the East with Dear

Went to the East today with Dear.. because Dear applied for a job at this company in the East, went to submit resume etc. Shall not elaborate more.. When Dear gets the job then broadcast. After that, Dear accompanied me to shop at Tampines Mall & Century Mall.. *happy* Bought a pair of white heels.. although I've alot already. Recently keeps buying shoes.. last week just bought a pair of puma sneakers.. but I like them.. so worth it to buy. Need abit of retail therapy for working so hard & feeling so stressed & upset at work.

Our dinner was at Pastamania @ Tampines Mall.. Dear.. u got alot of wrinkles leh.. :)

03 Apr 2009 - B'day Celebration with Dear's Frens

Went Chevron for some drinks last night.. *fun* Suddenly love playing pool.. Have been playing yahoo pool online just now.. Even my sis thinks I'm lousy!!! I just need more practice & I'll be good!

Think drinking alcohol is good to destress.. I need to do so more often.. but Dear will be angry if I go out drinking with other pple.. so perhaps I can just drink at home.. lol...

Eve of Chinese New Year Eve (24 Jan 2009) - Family Gathering BBQ at downtown east cum Birthday Celebration

My cousin (Janice) b'day is on 25th Jan while mine is on 29th Jan. So we celebrated together.. :) We were born in the same year.. but I call her "Ling Jie Jie", which Chris thought it's weird, why I can't address her by the name. I also dunno why but it's been a habit since young..

After our bbq, most pple left.. the rest of us went back to the rooms, bathed & it's mahjong time! Actually I felt quite empty after the pple leave because there's 2 rooms but only a few of us remaining.. but we had fun & interaction.

Eve of Chinese New Year (25 Jan 2009) - We woke up around 10am.. had breakfast & went Pasir Ris Park to cycle.. Malvina (my youngest cousin) had a bad fall during cycling so only Me & Dear went Wild Wild Wet after cycling. Wild Wild Wet was quite fun.. but there's only a 4 rides so it's not worth the money. *we went with complimentary tickets, but wasted the rest coz my cousins didn't go.*

Went work today despite having an MC for Cold Virus. I was sneezing the whole day at work on Thursday.. plus running nose, fever, headache etc.. Knocked off & immediately went to see a doc. Doctor gave me 2 days MC but I was bored staying at home on Friday. Furthermore, I was troubled over my leftover work in office. Therefore, I went back to work today. Glad I went back work.. managed to clear quite abit of stuff today. Although the medicine made me drowsy & abit giddy + floaty at work, I just sat at my desk & did alot of data compilation. Knocked off at 6:30 & met up with Sheena for dinner. We ate at the same Jap restaurant which I ate with Seannie some time ago. Brought sheena here to eat the Unagi Fried Rice, which I think is very delicious. However, think sheena is very full & she's not a rice person so she didn't eat alot. We also shared the sashimi salad, which is very nice too. *twigz*

26 to 31 Dec 2008 - Bangkok Holiday

Long awaited getaway from Singapore & Work.. Photo taking at the Budget Terminal before we board the tiger airline flight to Bangkok.

1st Day (26 Dec 08) Reached BKK airport at around 8:30 (Singapore time). Took a cab to our hotel then went out to grab some food. Dear ate all the street food which I find quite hard to swallow because I'm not used to the taste. Found a porridge stall.. & shared a bowl with Dear. Adding some seasoning and the porridge was yummy. :)2nd Day (27 Dec 08) At the BTS (skytrain) to Chatuchak weekend market. Dear told me a story about the railway tracks. He said in singapore there's 4 tracks, 2 are for the train, 2 for war time to convert to transport system. Don't really understand the details.. well.. some general knowledge to share.

Pets section at Chatuchak.. Dear says the dogs are cute! This is a horror & nightmare place for me. I m scared of dogs & cats & all creatures that move.

After Chatuchak, we went to Nana Square, where my colleague recommended to make guys suit. However, the prices were too expensive & we left. After that we went Zen Shopping Mall & Platinum Mall. There's a tailor shop near Platinum Mall & Central World which price was moderate. Therefore, dear made a suit there while I made a long sleeve top. Dear achieved his goal to make a suit in BKK. *grinz*

After our late movie (Australia), we were greeted by lotsa partying outside the shopping malls. The pple there party every single night we were there.. even on weekdays! *amazed*

3rd Day (28 Dec 08) Morning was spent at Chatuchak Weekend Market again.. we didn't buy much stuff today coz we bought most of our stuff yesterday. After walking for about 2 hrs, we left for Chinatown!!! Took a Tuk-tuk there.. our 1st time sitting a Tuk-tuk.. Dear asked Tuk-tuk driver to drive carefully.. coz they can be reckless at times & we don't wanna risk our dear lives. I think it quite a memorable experience. I won't sit on a tuk-tuk again.. so this experience will be a memory for me.

Eating our Bird Nest.. which we searched high n low for. Recommended by my colleague (Wendy, who passed me lotsa bkk maps & printed lotsa bkk food places for me when I told her I going bkk), I was determined to find Bird Nest in Chinatown.. n I didn't wanna leave till I find it. Finally I found 1 restaurant serving it.. so we went in.. affordable at around 8 dollars for 1 bowl. *sweet* Dear & I ate a bowl each, served with red dates, longans & ginko nuts. We were the only customers in the big restaurant.. haha.. wonder why? The bird nest was alright, and I would definitely recommend others to go there. Restaurant was Clean, with Air Con, Spacious, and Good Service.

After eating the bird nest & buying pork floss stuff to bring home, we took a cab to Central World. Traffic jam was bad.. n I took a long nap in the cab while Dear was having a terrible time with the traffic & the taxi driver.

Dinner at Central World (Fuji Restaurant) - Read alot about this restaurant from numerous blogs so was very excited to try it out. However, I was quite disappointed with the food & service. The food was alright.. not v fantastic.. the service was not that good because we don't have free flow of hot green tea! We ordered 2 cups n the cups were really pathetic.. subsequent cups need to order n pay again. Nonetheless, the ambiene was quite good with the light that changes colour and they have bamboos too.

4th Day (29 Dec 08) Woke up early in the morning, ate breakfast at the hotel & headed to the Grand Palace for our tour. We had a personal tour guide cum "photographer". Hee.. v informative tour & we managed to catch the matching in parade. However, the Emerald Buddha tour was kinda disappointing because I expected to see a big buddha statue but it was only about 50cm tall. After our tour, the tour guide brought us to this jewellery factory which I bought some souvenirs.

Went back to hotel to change, rest. Then changed into shorts (BKK weather is still hot even though it's their Winter Season), and headed to the A&W near our hotel for Lunch. It's been ages since I last ate A&W meal!!! Simple delicious! Dear is so hungry that he ate 2 meals (2 root beer float)!!!! *amazed* haha.. actually I shared with him the 3rd meal (Wafer Ice Cream + Curly Fries + Root Beer Float) just that he finished the whole float.

High Tea at Whittard of Chelsea. Nice place to just sit down, relax, drink tea & eat cake. The sofa is so comfy.. *peace*

Waited at Whittard for about 1hr for the night market across the street to open.. then we went there to walk for awhile.. but found it quite boring.. so we left for MBK.

Dinner at MBK (Sizzler). This is the only decent photo which Dear took. The rest are my ugly eating expressions. Cannot upload if not will spoil my image.. haha.. =pEnded the day with watching Madagascar 2 at MBK. Photo taking with the posters before the show. Dear with Yes Man (which we caught on Monday coz BKK don't have this show). Me with Madagascar 2. During the show, we were so tired that we fell asleep at some pt. After the show, we took a cab back & I fell asleep immediately after bathing while Dear watch his soccer on TV I think. Haha.. too tired from the numerous packed activities.
5th Day (30 Dec 08) Started the day by going down to the Tailor to alter Dear's suit for the 2nd time. Then made our way to Spa Buri for our Spa!!! It's the 1st time I go SPA!!!! After our v long 2 n 1/2 hr Spa session, we took at cab down to MBK & had lunch at Ajisen. This is my Ramen. *delicious*

After lunch, shopped around.. then walked from MBK to Siam Discovery, then Siam Paragon & took pictures with the Christmas Trees along the way.

Dinner at Central World (Manhattan) - Sipping my apple juice while waiting for our Seafood Platter for 2 to arrive. Smiling sweetly before I realize my handbag is lost!!! I m so forgetful.. left my handbag at MBK's toilet. Sighz.. after I realize, it's too late & frustration doesn't help. Thankfully Dear still have enough money to pay for the meal.. which to me was v ex suddenly. Suddenly I had to be v mindful in my spendings.. suddenly every dollar counts. Although I still have cards & some sing dollars in the hotel, didn't wanna use them.

6th Day (31 Dec 08) Luckily we still had enough money to last us to the airport & ate R-burger at the airport before flying back. On the airplane back.. Home Sweet Home.

p/s: I ate sooooooo much throughout the trip, I think I put on another 5kg! OMG! *Fatty is growing fatter!*

Attended 2 wedding dinners since I joined TECH.. & more to come.. I love attending wedding dinners.. because I love to see the couple walk down the aisle together, hand in hand.. & all the guests will be smiling & blessing the couple.

1 Dec 2008 - 38th Month Anniversary, Singapore Flyer cum Christmas City Light Up Open Bus Tour

Dear & I neither make it a point to celebrate anniversary nor rem our monthly anniversary even though it's on e 1st of every month (very easy to rem). 1 Dec happens to be my off-day.. Dear just finished his exams.. so we met to go out! Went to sit Singapore Flyer.. I was feeling very excited & all eager to go onto the flyer! The thought of going high up into the sky was scary at first.. however when we were in the capsule, I felt very safe! We had a capsule all by ourselves coz it was a monday!!! *happy*

The Marina Barrage - Amazing Barrier that separates fresh water & sea water. Dear says that when it's high tide, the water level in the reservoir will rise. However, cannot tilt the barrier, if not the freshwater will mix with the sea water.. so there's a tunnel below that will pump the freshwater out. *smart idea* Dear says he wanna bring me there someday.. but what's there to eat? Or go there only see the barrier?

More wonderful places of attraction.. The Esplanade & Skyscrapers.. we went up when the sun was abt to set so everything looks dark. Bad timing.. haha.. Dear initially wanted to go up & see sunset then come down time will be able to see night scenery. Too bad we misjudge the timing..

Christmas Light Up Tour.. Sitting on a open top bus is a pretty new & cooling experience.. While the lovely christmas lightings are my favorite part of the ride, Dear's fav part is the mt faber tunnel part.. he thinks it's cool! But I think otherwise.. because our heads were sooooo near to the ceiling of the tunnel.. really scary I feel. Enjoying the Christmas lightings, as well as the cool breeze as the bus moves.. Christmas spirit was strong in the air with Christmas songs playing in the background. *Last Christmas I gave you my heart, but the very next day you gave it away. This year to to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special.."

Chris Bro's House Warming

Yesterday I went to Chris Bro's House Warming & watch soccer till v late then come home. Just bathed & wanna blog about an enjoyable night spent. It was v warmth & happy!

I didn't take any photo except this photo of dear & the little flower girl from the wedding. She's v cute & pretty & sweet. She loves to hug & kiss pple & sit close to chris.. until I'm kinda jealous. But she hugged me too & gave me a goodbye kiss before she leave.. she climbed onto e sofa so that she can kiss me on e cheek right & left! *sweet*

Watch Arsenal vs Man U at Chris Bro's House.. very exciting game!!! Dear was screaming throughout e game.. n I also ended up screaming.. haha.. It was a happy ending! Arsenal scored 2 goals & Man U scored a v last min goal.. & the match ended with 2-1. *happy* I'm gonna wear my Arsenal jersey proudly to work on Tues.. Hee.. :p So fun to watch soccer together with Dear.. & even more happy to watch together with so many pple.. Hope that Dear's bro will organize some more gathering then I can have fun again!

Last night we celebrated Jason & Leonard's Birthday.. Jason's b'day is on 8Nov & Leonard's on 29Oct. Happy B'day Guys!!! May ur dreams come true. *twigz*

Some photo taking before Weimin & Yuwen came.. they came late because weimin had to work before that.. pretty sad to work on a sun! And I hear him say sometimes peak period they have to work till past midnight.. Sighz.. Guess we all have to pay for the price we earn. Then Jason quitted his job, Peiyi gonna quit soon.. then Peiyi was telling me to quit too if I think it's too stressed. But I think I won't quit now lah.. I'll perservere for awhile more & see how. For now I still like what I m doing.. Work hard ZhuZhu!!!

26 Oct 2008 - Soccer & Gathering at SMU Settler's Cafe

Chris was invited by Walter to join his soccer club. So he brought me along last sun to the Cage where they played indoor soccer. This coming sun they going to play at the Katong outdoor field. Don't think I'll join them coz don't wanna be attack by e field creatures.. haha.. n I've my own gathering too.. hee..

While e guys were playing soccer, I was chatting w all e other girlfriends for 2hrs.. & they were sharing w me e story of how they got together.. & some of the girls are as young as 19 yrs old!!!! So young! & the boyfriends are pretty young too.. currently still serving NS.. they are Walter's juniors in band! Surprising, they were all from band last time in sec sch.. same as ME! No wonder we click.

After the game, half of the guys went back to Walter's house to shower, half of them stayed at the Cage to shower. Then we all met again at SMU Settler's Cafe.
The girl sitting beside me is Dawn (also from hall 1 blk 14).. we know each other & started chatting at some soccer game in school when she went to watch Walter (her bf) play & I went to watch Chris play. The couples that were present that day were all very loving.. I miss those times when I just got attached!!!! So sweet & envious of all e other couples!

Today is Dear's bro, Thomas & Janice BIG DAY!!! They must have been looking forward to this special day for very long already.. finally it's here!!!

Tea Ceremony in the day.. followed by photo taking.. with their family.. Janice asked me to go in to take together! That's why I'm in their family photo.. love them to bits! *hugz*

Dinner at Night.. I missed their solemnization ceremony coz I was late. Looking forward to seeing the photos of the solemnization when I get them from Chris.. I believe it's v sweet & pretty with the sunset by e sea.

Silly Dear got a bouquet of flowers for me from the wedding.. making me look so awkward with them. But thanks for the flowers!!! I feel happy receiving them! *grinz*

Grandpa's 83 B'day

Celebrated my grandfather's 83th B'day last month.. had a great gathering & weekend. :)

We had dinner at a teochew restaurant.. my grandparents like e food but it wasn't to e younger cousins' liking.. but we still ate alot & were all very very full at the end.

Dear wasn't in the group photo because he was taking for us.. so here's a photo of dear & me!

Didn't take alot of photos because my cousin filmed most of it using his videocam.. then after the dinner everyone came over to my house to play mahjong & look at the video.. Dear stayed to play with them until very late too. My XiaoGu was so crazy ask him to stayover.. but Dear still left after entertaining them for awhile.. e rest stayed till ard 2am!! My gosh.. I was so so so tired!!! Looking forward to more family gatherings.. :)
